INTERSET Intercom System

FITTING AND OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

Interset intercomsystem1. Choose a position inside the helmet directly opposite the ear. This is important for maximum audibility.Peel the protective backing off the "Velcro" pad and press firmly in place. Due to the slim profile of the earpieces, no modification of the helmet padding should need to be made. However, in situations where they run against the ears, compression of the padding material is recommended rather than cutting out a depression. Do not press on the earpieces if this is necessary.

2. Attach the earpieces to the "Velcro" wire wires in the position shown, and with the white
dot facing the ear.

3. Attach the microphone (as described above for the ear pieces) in front of the mouth on the inside of the helmet chin pieces. It may be necessary on some helmets to position the microphone to the side of the chin piece. This will prevent wind noise from the forced air-flow from overloading the amplification circuits.

4. Tuck the wires behind the helmet lining material to finish off the installation and to prevent catching of loose cables. Connect riders lead and pillion's lead into main unit.

5. Avoid pulling on the wire which connects to the main unit from earpieces as broken connections may result.

6. The main intercom unit should be placed in the top right hand riders pocket. A stick-on belt clip is provided if this is preferred. Simply peel the protective backing from the sticky pad and position towards the top of the unit. Press firmly in place. Ensure the area where the clip is attached is clean and dry.

7. Some experimentation may be necessary to select correct volume level and this may vary with different cruising speeds.

8. An accessory lead can be plugged into "AUX" socket in the front panel of the unit after removal of the protective grommet. Plug the other end of the lead into the external speaker socket on the mono radio-cassette. With the intercom Volume level at normal speech setting, adjust the radio-cassette volume to desired level.

FOR OPEN FACED HELMETS

Follow above instruction with the exception of the following:

1. Choose a position inside the helmet directly opposite the ears. This is important for maximum audibility. Peel the protective backing from the "Velcro" pad and press firmly in place. With the microphone boom in position shown, press the headset assembly on to the "Velcro" pad. Due to the slim profile of the earpieces, no modification of the helmet padding should need to be made. However, in situations where they run against the ears, compression of the padding material is recommended rather than cutting out a depression. Do not press on the earpieces if this is necessary.

2. Position the microphone as shown in diagram, with the boom close to the face and mouth. Bend the boom carefully to achieve the desired position.
